Folling the announcement of her new single “Godspeed,” Camila Cabello announced the C,XOXO: Magic City Editon.
Teasing that there are “always more stories to tell,” Cabello confirmed that the deluxe album will arrive alonside the new single on September 6. The deluxe edition will seemingly continue where the original C,XOXO album left off as a love-letter to Miami. Posting the album cover, she wrote “some new songs for your night in Magic City.”
C,XOXO was released June 28 and is home to singles “I Luv It”’” with Playboi Carti, “‘”He Knows” featuring Lil Nas X, and Drake collaboration “Hot Uptown.”
The release will drop just days before the singer is set to take the VMA stage alongside Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and her former fling Shawn Mendes. She is also nominated in the “Best Pop” category.
The single announcement has been speculated to be a response to Sabrina Carpenter‘s recent album release. Fans drew parallels between Cabello’s C, XOXO lyrics, including “If she’s so amazing, why are you on this side of town?/If you like her so much, what are you here trying to find out?” in “June Gloom” and Carpenter’s lyrics in “Taste” and “Coincidence.”
Both stars have had a relationship with Shawn Mendes, who appears to be the subject of the tracks. The teaser for the “Godspeed” video was captioned “I wish you well, but far away from me,” inciting more speculation.
