Olivia Rodrigo resumed her Guts World Tour last night (July 19) in Philidelphia and proclaimed it was her loudest crowd yet.
We attended her sold-out event and have the trading card to prove it! The 21-year-old had her fans screaming from the start of her show with “Bad Idea Right?” and went straight through twenty-three of her songs spanning from her two albums: Sour and Guts.
Prior to the event, it was clear how much excitement was in the atmosphere as merch lines extended past the barriers set in place and her tour bus became flooded with fans even hours before showtime.
Fans of Olivia’s 2023 release, Guts, were in luck as the singer sang every track off the album (and two from the deluxe version). “Bad Idea” and “Ballad of a Homeschool Girl” brought a ton of energy before a slowed down nine-track run of the emotional jams from “Vampire” and “Driver’s License” to “Logical” and “Enough For You.” The latter tracks took place above us, as Rodrigo floated around the arena on a crescent moon surrounded by stars.

During the opener’s performance, the venue experienced some technical issues with a series of broken microphones, but Olivia surely proved her mic was indeed ON.
Between a few acoustic sets, some fan banter, and her grunge punk- tinged setlist it was apparent that the star has earned her spot among the stars (literally). The evidence was in the room while her fans sang every word and cheered back every chorus from her setlist without missing a beat. When quizzing the audience on who they attended the concert with, she asked who came with their parents, their boyfriend or girlfriend, or their best friend. As a former Disney star, recently turned 21, the screams were loudest among the “best friends” and “parent” groups. The median age of the audience matched the thesis of many of the singer’s lyrics that focus on the hardships of growing up.
In the track “Brutal” Olivia sings “And I’m so sick of 17/Where’s my fu**ing teenage dream?/ If someone tells me one more time/ ‘Enjoy your youth,’ I’m gonna cry.” That’s not to say the older members of the audience, including me (and Robert Downey JR., who was also in attendance) couldn’t relate and scream the hook “God, it’s brutal out here!” back to the cat-walk where the singer spent a generous amount of time.
A group of dancers also accompanied Olivia and her all-girl rock band. The dancers decorated an otherwise empty stage and really shined during songs like “Lacy” and “Love Is Embarrassing.”

For the encore, Rodrigo celebrated the City of Brotherly Love with a tank top reading “It’s always SOUR in Philidelphia” referencing the hit TV show based in the city and her debut album Sour. With the tank top and a mega-phone in hand she concluded her show with Guts themed confetti filling the arena performing an album standout “Get Him Back!”
While leaving the show, many of her dedicated fans stuck around to collect all of the different messages plastered on the left-over confetti such as “I love your guts,” or “I’m sexy and I’m fine” hoping to get as much memorabilia as possible from a memorable night.
