Doja Cat plays ‘musical impressions’ on ‘Fallon’

Doja Cat has been making headlines since the release of her deluxe edition of her 2023 album Scarlet and she finally joined The Tonight Show last night with Jimmy Fallon.

During her visit Doja was tasked with covering specific songs in specific musical styles in a game called “musical impressions”. A highlight was transforming her own “Paint The Town Red” into a Broadway-style number. Watch the clip below:

The interview commenced with Doja Cat discussing her musical beginnings and her early days in a dance crew. The conversation then shifted to the upcoming European segment of Doja’s Scarlet tour, which she described as “a very hairy show” in general.

She then reminisced about her first concert experience, which was an Earth, Wind & Fire performance when she was around five years old, where she was even brought up on stage. In contrast, her subsequent concert, a Beyoncé performance, was less engaging since they had seats far from the stage. Additionally, they reflected on Doja Cat’s recent Coachella performance, which included Jimmy Fallon donning one of the hair-laden outfits from her act.
