Zendaya recently revealed the future of her music career in an interview with Jennifer Hudson.
During an appearance on Friday, April 26’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, the Challengers star, 27, was asked about releasing music in the past and insisted that when the “right timing” comes, she may release something again.
“I love music, and it’s something that’s been special to me,” Zendaya told Hudson, 42. “I think being in the music industry, maybe it, it didn’t kill the joy of music, but it’s when you put music and business together. Sometimes it cannot feel so good.”
“You know, I think if the right timing and it came, because I like creating it for myself, but if there was a moment, maybe I would, you know, put out a little something,” the Dune actress teased of when fans can expect new music.
In 2013, Zendaya released an electro-R&B bop called “Replay,” which charted at No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to become certified Platinum by the RIAA. The single preceded her self-titled debut album, which dropped later the same year via Hollywood Records and reached No. 51 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
