On Tuesday night, Taylor Swift was bejeweled at the Video Music Awards in Newark taking home 9 awards.
Taylor won album of the year with Midnights, along with the coveted video of the year for her self-directed video “Anti-Hero”. Last year, her “All To Well” short- film also received the honor of Video of the Year.
During her speech Swift described the love she has for writing music her fans can relate to.
“I am so so happy because this is validating my favorite part of what I get to do. … And it always starts with a very isolated emotion, like a very, very specific type of insecurity or self-loathing that I feel like I’m the only one who is feeling in that moment,” she said.
“But then, when I go out on tour, and I’ve got a stadium singing the words back to me. It brings me to this very relaxing feeling of maybe we all have the same issues.”
The singer is set to return to her Eras World Tour in November with Sabrina Carpenter.
