Selena Gomez is turning heads with a striking new look.
The singer and actress revealed a dramatic red hairstyle in a recent Instagram post while giving fans a glimpse behind the scenes of filming the sixth season of Only Murders in the Building in London.
On Wednesday (June 3), Gomez shared a carousel of photos documenting her time overseas. The post included snapshots with her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short in front of London’s iconic Big Ben, as well as photos from a canoe outing with friends. “Wild things happening with @onlymurdershulu while adoring london,” she wrote in the caption.
The biggest surprise came at the end of the slideshow. In the final two slides, Gomez unveiled deep red curls in both a selfie and a short video, showing off a dramatic departure from her signature dark hair.
It’s currently unclear whether Gomez actually dyed her hair or if the look is part of a wig for the show. Either way, fans are already speculating that her character, Mabel Mora, will be sporting the fiery new style at some point during Season 6.
Hulu has yet to announce an official premiere date for the upcoming season. The renewal came shortly after Season 5 aired from September through October of last year.
After the series was renewed, Gomez shared her excitement with fans on Instagram.
“Well, looks like our fam is going to London y’all,” she wrote. “I want to thank our community and fans of @onlymurdershulu for allowing us to even have a season 6! We are eternally grateful we can bring any of you any sort of joy. My deepest gratitude from Steve, Marty and myself.”
Beyond Only Murders in the Building, Gomez has a busy slate ahead. She is set to make her directorial debut during the final season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. The multi-hyphenate star also recently reunited with Miley Cyrus for a special cameo celebrating the anniversary of Hannah Montana, delighting longtime Disney Channel fans.
