Lizzo has been in vacation mode this weekend and it looks like she’s getting comfy. The singer announced she will be taking a “gap year” following the getaway.
The announcement was posted on Instagram, following a series of posts highlighting her trip to Bali. In one story, the “Good As Hell” singer shared some impressive jump rope work with tropical views.
A few months back, she shared a mental health update following a string of lawsuits and public scrutiny. At the time, the singer was in good spirits and seemed optimistic about the future.
“I’m the happiest I’ve been in 10 months,” Lizzo wrote on Instagram in the May update. “The strange thing about depression is you don’t know you’re in it until you’re out of it. I’m definitely not all the way as carefree as I used to be. But the dark cloud that followed me every day is finally clearing up. My smile reaches my eyes again and that’s a win.”
Lizzo most recently released music in 2022. Her album Special landed at No.2 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart and helmed a No. 1 single with “About Damn Time.”
