Matty Healy is now engaged to 26-year-old model Gabbriette Bechtel, which she revealed on her Instagram Stories Tuesday night.
The model showed off her black gem on Instagram after the couple attending a Charli XCX Brat listening party in Brooklyn. “MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT,” she captioned the photo. Charli is currently engaged to The 1975’s George Daniel.
Matty’s mother, a host on the TV show Loose Women, confirmed the news this morning saying, “I have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged,” she said. “Black diamond [ring], he had it made for her. I couldn’t be more thrilled. We couldn’t be happier — she is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law.”
Healy and Bechtel first sparked dating rumors in September nearly three months after the “Somebody Else” singer and Taylor Swift supposedly broke up.
In April, Bechtel told Homme Girls that she and the rock star had been trying to meet in person for four years before they finally crossed paths last year. “He came to L.A. and we’ve been in love ever since,” she said at the time, revealing that they enjoy ordering takeout and playing Fortnite in bed together.
Some internet sleuths have discovered Gabbriette was wearing her custom ring as early as June 1.
