Ranking our top 10 Meghan Trainor songs

Meghan Trainor

We are less than a week away from new music by Meghan Trainor. Timeless drops on June 7 and we can’t be more excited! The singer has been hitting our speakers for over a decade now since her debut single “All About That Bass” celebrated ten years in April.

Her career boasts 13 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including “Bass” which spent 8 weeks at number one. She has features with Charlie Puth (We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist), Nicki Minaj, and most recently T-Pain and is gearing up to go on a world tour with Natasha Bedingfield.

Her “Timeless” tour kicks off in September and the set-list is sure to amaze. With so many songs to choose from in her discography, we’ve compiled a list of our top ten tracks. Take a look:

10. “Better When I’m Dancing”

Kicking off the list we have “Better When I’m Dancing” straight from the 2015 Peanuts Movie Soundtrack. This feel-good song mixes the sounds we loved from Meghan’s debut Title album with tropical house influences. The song got lost in the mix of her Title and Thank You singles, but still managed to go platinum in the US.

9. “Made You Look”

“Made You Look” proves that Meghan Trainor’s iconic modern doo-wop sound is as timeless as her new album suggests. The second single from her fifth album Takin’ It Back peaked at no.11 on the Hot 100 and was her first entry on the chart since 2016’s “NO.”

This is a perfect track to show off Trainor’s cheeky humor and musical style while not repeating the past.

8.”Foolish”

From her The Love Train EP, Meghan Trainor is playfully in love on “Foolish.” Dedicated to her husband Daryl Sabara, this track is a little more rhythmically focused, but is instantly recognizable as soon as the chorus hits.

“They say fools rush in, but I want to be foolish with you,” Meghan sings on our pick for number 8.

7. “Title”

Our first track from her debut album Title, the title track is still on our summer playlist ten years later. After the breakout success of “All About That Bass,” “Title” was a fun ukulele clad track to truly make the singers style stand out in the pop world.

6. “Better”

2016’s Thank You showed a more mature side of the singer and “Better” is a good example of this. The Yo Gotti feature is new take on the “loving yourself” vibe we’ve admired from Meghan. “Better” also proves how good a rap verse sounds in a Meghan Trainor song.

5. “No”

Her name is “NO!” We were playing “No” on repeat for weeks when it was released as the lead single for Thank You and it still holds a place in our hearts. This track is reminiscent of 90’s pop, but it’s message is timeless.

4. “All About That Bass”

There’s a reason “All About That Bass” has secured it’s spot as one of the most iconic songs of all time. It’s a classic example of her signature sound, combining doo-wop beats and catchy melodies to create an infectious, upbeat tune. The shtick of “All About That Bass” was enough to define a legacy of tunes from the singers brand.

3. “3AM”

Perhaps a “deep cut” from an album that has dominated radio with its massive singles. “3 AM” was a fan favorite from Meghan’s debut and still holds a spot in our top ten. Like the hook says “I can’t get you out my head!”

2. “Kindly Calm Me Down”

“Kindly Calm Me Down” is a heartfelt and emotionally charged song that showcases Meghan Trainor’s vulnerable side. Released in 2016 as part of her sophomore album Thank You, this powerful ballad delves into the complexities of anxiety and longing for love and support. The lyrics and the melody work harmoniously to convey the artist’s unfiltered emotions.

1. “Lips Are Movin'”

The second single released from Title, “Lips Are Movin” secures its spot as our top Meghan Trainor song! The song went 4X platinum in the US and perfectly sums up everything we love about the singer’s sound. “Lips Are Movin” is fun, quirky, and bubblegum all at once. It was tough to top “All About That Bass,” but as far as we are concerned this is the track to do it!
